2014 was the centenary year of the Great War, we were reminded by Joan Newnham that it was her Grandmother, Elizabeth Coombs, who ran the village Post Office, who took all three telegrams about the Bennett family listed on the Roll of Honour and so had to inform the family, who of course she knew personally.
